These terms apply when you access or use The Real Deal. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Using The Real Deal

The Real Deal is a deal discovery and comparison service. We surface deals from South African brands and retailers, then link users to the relevant retailer or brand website to complete purchases.
We do not sell the products shown on the site, process product payments, ship products, or control retailer stock, prices, returns, warranties, or customer support.
Deal availability, prices, discounts, shipping fees, and product details can change quickly. You should confirm the final price and terms on the retailer website before buying.

Anyone may browse the deals on The Real Deal without an account.
You must be 18 or older to create an account, sign up for deal alerts or other emails, or post comments, votes or reviews. By doing any of these you confirm that you are 18 or older.
If we learn that an account or email sign-up belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the personal information linked to it.

By creating an account or signing up for deal alerts or emails, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Some features, such as saved deals, followed brands, voting, comments, alert settings, and personalised recommendations, may require an account.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for any activity under your account.
If you sign in with Google, your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.

If you subscribe to deal alerts, we may send emails based on your selected interests, saved deals, followed brands, or other requested preferences.
You can unsubscribe or update preferences using the settings provided in the product or in emails where available.
We may still send service or security messages where necessary to operate your account.

The Real Deal is free to use and does not sell products or take payment for purchases - there is no checkout on our platform.
We earn revenue through commercial partnerships with some (not all) of the brands and retailers featured. These may include affiliate or referral commissions, cost-per-click (CPC) fees, newsletter sponsorship, and paid featured-placement arrangements.
We do not have a partnership with every brand shown. Where we have no commercial relationship with a brand, we earn nothing from showing its deals - they are included purely because our system found them relevant.
Importantly, our RealRank™ rankings and scores are independent and are never influenced by payment. Brands cannot pay to achieve a higher RealRank™ score. Featured or partner placements (such as Trending Brand Deals) are curated separately from the RealRank™ deals and may involve a commercial relationship, which we disclose in these Terms, on our Disclaimer page, and in the site footer.

Some outbound links are affiliate, referral, or commercial partner links, and some placements may be paid or sponsored. We may earn a commission or other commercial benefit when you click or buy through those links. This does not change the price you pay.
Paid, sponsored or partner placements are curated separately from our independent RealRank™ rankings and are disclosed in these Terms, on our Disclaimer page, and in the site footer.
Outbound retailer and brand websites are not controlled by The Real Deal. Their terms, privacy policies, stock status, pricing, delivery, and returns apply to your purchase.

If you post comments, votes, reviews, or other content, you must not submit unlawful, abusive, misleading, infringing, or spam content.
You grant us permission to display and use submitted content to operate, moderate, and improve the service.
We may remove content or restrict access where we believe it violates these terms or harms the service or its users.

You must not harvest, bulk-copy, overload, reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to bypass security or access controls on the service.
You must not use the service to distribute malware, harvest personal information, impersonate others, or conduct fraudulent activity.
We may suspend or block access if we reasonably believe these terms are being violated.

We work to keep deal data accurate and useful, but the service is provided as is and as available.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that every deal is current, complete, or suitable for your needs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Real Deal is not responsible for losses arising from retailer purchases, changed prices, unavailable deals, third-party sites, or your use of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or right that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under South African law, including rights you may have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information, including account data, Google sign-in data, analytics, and deal alert preferences.
By using the service, you acknowledge that we process information as described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms and your use of the service are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
You agree to the jurisdiction of the South African courts for any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service. This does not affect any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer under South African law.

The Real Deal is operated by Real Deal Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa under registration number 2026/355547/07, with its physical address at 507 Portside, 1 Upper Portswood Road, Green Point, Cape Town, Western Cape, 8051, South Africa.
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date.
