3 hairstyle looks that stand the test of time

Believe it or not, but even the most expensive hairstyle will let you down. So we ask the question, are you tired of spending long hours fixing your hair, with no long-lasting result, then this beauty advice is for you!

Hairstyle looks that will never let you down

 The low, messy bun

This look is both classic and modern – and an easy style to add a trendy twist too. ‘A nice way to do this look is to do a braid,’ advises Shelene Shaer of Tanaz Hair Body & Nails. ‘Once you’ve made and secured the braid with an elastic, loosen it a little. Then wrap it around itself to form a soft bun and pin it. You can then loosen it further by pulling pieces outwards gently.’

The thicker your hair, the sooner you’ll need to start loosening and pulling the braid, even before you’ve pinned it. Thin hair works better once the twisted braid is partially pinned in place.

Start the braid wherever you choose, whether in the center at the nape of the neck or to the side, which allows it to be seen from the front as well.

Classic curls

‘If you’re doing curls, it’s better to brush them out,’ says Shelene. ‘Don’t be scared of the brush because that’s what gives you that natural, soft look.’ If you don’t, you’ll end up with a very structured, fixed curl that doesn’t look as natural or effortless.

‘Do a trial run and, if your hair is very heavy or fine and flattens quickly, have your curl done slightly tighter to allow room for them to drop,’ says Shelene.

The French roll

This classic beauty look never goes out of style but make sure you keep it sleek, soft and elegant. ‘Stay away from curls,’ advises Shelene. The last thing you want is to be trying for elegant and ending up with frizz. ‘Blow dry your hair smooth or opt for some soft waves if you really want a bit of movement.’

For a slightly more modern look, pull out a few wisps on the sides at your hairline. ’Get your stylist to cut and shape these pieces on the day after your hair is already styled and in place,’ says Shelene.
